There are green brackets that cover the injectors. They are used so that in the event of an accident, the injectors don't pop out and spray fuel everywhere. They are difficult to remove, but as long as you're patient and keep at it, you'll be able to wiggle them out. Most people don't put them back in afterwards.

Your passenger side one also helps hold up your coolant fill tank. Plus, it is where the power steering (I think) hose support is bolted onto as well.

hahaha! The green brackets of death! I remember when I did the injector swap too... It took 2 hours to do one side, and anonther 3 hours to do the other side.... not much fun..... I did put the shields back on at the end though, just to keep the car looking as stock as possible...
