stage 2 problems ??

ok when i bought my car i didnt have a chance to clock it stock...after adding some parts i'm currently at stage 2 with the following parts..
helix up
helix dp with cel fix
hks carbon ti exhaust
hks bov
cobb ap 92 octane map

my question is why am i stuck at 14.0's ?....i've read and seen guys with the same set up doing mid 13's...if the stock wrx does low 14's then with this stuff it suppose to do better..could it be i suck at driving ?...or could be something wrong with the map...

you can probably shave another .2-.3 if you get the launch and r/t perfectly.

it also depends on the environment. are you racing against the wind? what is the altitude?

Reaction time has nothing to do with his quarter mile time.

The clock does not start until the front wheels leave the line. FYI

Yea, you should be in mid to high 13's with that setup. It's your driving that's getting you the time. Keep praticing!

Now there may be problems with the motor??!!?? it could be timed wrong, it could be a fouled plug, lets not rule out the motor here....

14.0 with those mods? i thought stock wrx's ran 14.1ish depending on driver. i was considering buying a wrx and doing stage 2 (same mods) right away. i hope i can hit better than 14.0 when i get it. also, isnt a 93mph trap a little low? ive seen stock wrx's trap 96mph in the 1/4 mile. do you shift fast, or do u take it easy? because 93mph is kinda low for a modded wrx. practice your launch and shifting, and you should be at mid 13s w/those mods.

You're forgetting the fact that in Hawaii as well as California, we get 91 octane gas. Plus the weather doesn't help much.

Remember, stock numbers from the factory, and tuners times are BEATING the cars to get the times, slipping the clutch at 4500 and riding them hard run after run to get their desired time to post on their websites. Keep that in mind, I think it is driver related, I am definatly not a 1/4 driver ! lol.

Good luck,
Austin

If I was you I'd take off the hks BOV and put back on your stock piece. No more PSSSSHHH noise, but you will be glad you did. Atmospheric BOVs hurt performance on WRXs while the ECU is in closed loop. There is a thread about it on NASIOC. Also why are you running the CEL fix on the DP? The COBB AP fixes the CEL when you flash the map doesn't it? Anyways those are my suggestions. Good Luck!

You guys are dweebs. He could have a huge sub-box which is weighing him down. He could have a slipping clutch, fouled plug, leaking vacuum lines, boost leak, retarded timing, cracked header, bad battery or alternator, dirty air filter, non-funtioning or mis-functioning sensors.

There are other real world elements that may not be seen to the naked Eye. I had a vacuum leak in my old car. it was a 270 horse integra, i could not break 14's for the life of me, i replaced all my vacuum lines and i was mid 12's. There are lots of other things that could be causing it,

I THINK YOUR DOING A FINE JOB OF DRIVING< Check for other possible solutions. REmember the people on here THINK THEY KNOW EVERYTHING, Yet they take there car to jiffylube to change the oil. Kinda weird if you ask me.

^^ seems like you need to listen to your own advice. Don't harp on other people, or go back to nasico.
