The good thing about it is the alleged CARB E.O. (Exemption Order) number, which makes this a street legal modification in California on any vehicle listed in the application list. On a mildly modded car with proper tuning, I wouldn't expect to see any gains compared with the stock airbox because it isn't a restriction until you start moving some serious air (bigger turbo). SPT claims a power gain from bolting the piece on an untuned car so like some other intakes, the SPT part likely alters the readings to the MAF sensor.
I eagerly await feedback from local tuners who are able to perform back-to-back tests, with ECU resets or anything else that will remove unwanted test variables.
Jamie (Subiegal) will say anything to sell parts. She is a vendor as well as a moderator on the other board so take her recommendations with a grain of salt.

matt just stick with the oem intake (unless you get a new turbo, then your whole setup should change). all the reading youre gonna do on nasioc and i-club wont amount to the power that you think an intake will actually give. youre at COBB stage 2 correct? it may help but i think the concensus with intakes is similar to that of BOV's: someone could contrive a situation where it may be beneficial, but in every day driving real world setting, it'll probably do jack squat. save your money for something better like struts.

From what I seen so far, they can't keep 'em in stock. If they suck they will be all over the place. I was having trouble with my stock intake while tuning a week or so ago. I think it's time to open the throat for the 20g.
I have a stock air box with an airhog in it right, now. Get this I had an AMSOIL panel filter in there, we were getting terrible flow, I replacd it with an off the shelf Fram, and it gained 6whp and 15ftlb on Gruppe-s dyno. I caugh a bunch of flack for that.
