Smog check in CA
I was wondering if my car would pass a smog check in CA. It only has a Blitz SUS SR Intake and a Blitz axleback exhaust. Everything else is stock and the ecu hasn't been touched before. Someone told me that the 2002 WRX barely passes the CA smog check.... so I'm worried about failing even with these simple bolt-ons.

tell me if ur car has to get dynoed, my dad (who runs a car shop in the city) said that CA past some kinda law that said they will check if the car is making more HP then its supost to when its sent into being smoged...
CA Smog are notorious for being a ***** about everything. Your best bet is to do 3 possible things:
(1) Go to a Chinese smog place where they will "hook u up" and help u pass (only works if you look Asian, or else they will freak out).
(2) Put everything back to stock, do your smog check, then put everything back on again. You won't get another smog check for 2 years.
(3) Drive to Las Vegas. Go get a mailbox rental, go to their DMV, and tell them you moved to NV. Then change your car registration to NV, you won't have to go thru the CA smog hell. (FYI NV give u the new driver's license on the spot, not like CA where u gotta wait a month in the mail). You can tell the NV DMV you are a "seasonal resident" of NV. That way you can get a new NV DL and keep your CA DL.
Not that I am suggesting you to violate the law... just an alternative perspective.
