slow starter on my WRX?
slow starter on my WRX?
OK, heres the problem, if its a problem. When I start my vehicle about 9/10 times it takes an extra second or 2 to start. I engage the starter and it turns immediatley just that it takes a bit longer for the engine to keep going on its own. This has been happening since I bought the 03 wrx and I dont know what to do. I thought at first maybe because it was a turbo it took an extra second due to air flow restrictions but I test drove a couple others and they dont do this. I know its not a completley dead spot on the starter like where you just here the solenoid clicking but not spinnging the starter, I was thinking that the starter was just weak somehow.
Anyone ever experienced this before?
Anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

Subie batteries aren't the best, and have been known to go bad very quickly. I just took my '02 battery out and the water level was down just below the 'low' line all the way across, and I had filled it last spring.

Yeah I've noticed this getting a little worse for me too. If I do swap out I'll be getting a lighter weight/smaller battery

No offense intended, but I wouldn't let the local(~50 miles away) dealer get close enough to my car to see what color it is.
The closest REAL dealer is ~3 hours(at good speed
) away, and for a battery I'll just handle it myself.
As a matter of fact, I already did by installing an Odyssey PC680 under the passengers seat.
