Serious Help

OK, so as I get into the whole upgrades and Mods and do more and more homework, I realize more and more, I need help. I don't want to call my local shop because they just want to sell me stuff, because that's what they do. So what I need to know from anyone who wants to help (as long as you know what you're talking about) is this...Where do I go from here and is my upgrade path logical or retarded???

I have the following:

04 WRX (silver in case you needed the visual)

Greddy EVO2 Exhaust
Perrin Lightweight Crank Pulley
AEM Short RAM
Cobb Short Throw
Eibach Springs
Yoko AVS ES 100's (225/55WR16's on my factory rims)

My next upgrades are to replace the up pipe and down pipe with Helix up and down pipes, catted because I care i guess and don't want to have to deal with any DMV hassles...

Then following that would be new hoses, a blow off valve and a TurboXS Utec with remote map selector.

I figure that should get me close to 300hp when tuned right...I plan on having my local shop do the TurboXS because they've dealt with them before, and can tune it and i know then my maps would be right...

As for my goal, i want to keep my daily driver, but alsobe a car that can run 13's on the track. Preferably low 13's so I feel respectable and handle any curves and twists and turns I run into...

So at this point, i'm open to suggestions,,,good bad or indifferent...let me have em...

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Sounds like you have a plan set up. As for 300hp, you will crank hp. But unless you have something else up your sleeve, you won't hit 300whp unless you do a serious turbo upgrade with all the fixin's.

300hp base, not at the wheels is what I'm looking for...I would have to be nuts to mod up to 300hp at the wheels and still keep it as a daily driver...

that's what you're refering to right??? Does that sound like a good plan??? The more and more I look, I guess the beauty is everyone has their own plan and there is no set way...

Yes, it sounds like a good plan. I have roughtly 315hp(crank) on my 02 WRX. I have similar mods, except i'm running the stock air box w/ K&N filter and a TurboXS Hyperflow TMIC. It pulls good still with the stock turbo.

just to let you know a bov has no performance . . . its just for the "woosh" sound. but speaking for myself i HAVE TO HAVE one because i just love the sound when i let off the gas pedal ! lol once you get your helix pipes you'll feel a BIG difference. oh yea . . . if i were you id just get the helix CATLESS downpipe because the catted downpipe is still ILLEGAL and the catless one is cheaper and gives more power !

I know the BOV doesn't have any power boost, but i to need the woosh!!! the AEM short ram has a nice PSSSHHH sound, but nothing like the woosh....and if you have any recommendations on the BOV, it would be greatly appreciated...I was thinking about the Perrin, it's a 50/50...will I still get the woosh sound???

Also, how is the catted still illegal? That I don't understand...
