Replacing a stock turbo with high miles?

Replacing a stock turbo with high miles with another new stock turbo?

Is there any power to be gained by replacing a turbo with 60k on it with a fresh brand new one? Or as long as there isnt smoke or oil spewing, is there really no reason to bother replacing it?

No reason to replace unless the current has problems. Shaft play bad seals etc....

a new turbo may result in a slight power gain(1-2hp) due to better flow, but as long as the turbo is working, there is no need to replace it.

I don't see how changing the uppipe would allow you to hear the turbo more. Intake:Yes, Downpipe:Yes. Uppipeon't think so. Whistling is a characteristic sound of an uppipe leak. Boosting to stock level with a stock turbo is pretty easy. Even with a leak.

then you've never had an uppipe before. Its way louder. It removes all the muffling from the input of the turbo. As it loses the cat.

I'd say you have a leak also. Did you replace all the gaskets when you changed the uppipe?
