Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Question on version 8 STI engine parts

We are looking for parts to complete a version 8 sti swap in a 2.5 rs. We have a near complete motor, but it is missing the intake manifold, injectors, maf, wiring harness, alternator, and coolant reservoir.

Question is are any of these parts the same as on US model engines like the WRX ej20 or STI ej25?

I would think the MAF, coolant reservoir & the Alternator maybe swapable from either a USDM STi or USDM WRX. The v8 STi intake manifold is TGV-less, all USDM models have TGVs. You can order a new v8 intake manifold from Rallispec. The v8 sti injectors 'pinks' are different as well from all the USDM ones, ALTHOUGH the 2006-2007 WRX will swap easily with only minor changes to the ECU needed to run optimal. The v8 wiring harness has the AVCS wiring so you'll have to have a v8 harness. Check with Rallispec or IAPerformance.

i don't know if he said it, but you'll have to mod your fuel rails for a v8 to fit in something not a v8...other than that^^^^^^well said.

are you running STi head or WRX head...because the 2.0 can hold a higher amount of compression.
