The flames make me assume you have no cats. FYI, police can smell catless cars when they follow you, and it's a federal crime. Anyways, no, you don't have to put your heat shields on, but they do have a function and they help the car to appear stock.

But a few questions, do you have to put all the heat sheilds back on, also does anyone run with the dp heatsheild on.
Thanks
Matt

ohhh but sweet power, and for some reason im running rich b/c my friend with a wrx was following me and he said i was shooting some nice flames, any ideas on this one.
thanks
If you have an aftermarket BOV set to atmospheric venting, it will cause the fireballs. I have read that the ECU will 'learn' and reduce between shift overfueling which causes the fireballs...
Don't know for sure, though...

Never say 'never again'...

I would put the Dp heat sheild on if i were you, think about all that heat from the turbo just radiating to the intercooler. heat is bad in some places like that.
