Question about coolant draining

When I loosen the petcock, is the coolant going to come out of the hole on the side or the hole on the bottom?

Too much work going that route. Just remove the bottom radiator hose from the block let it drain and flush with distilled water.

the thing is, I only have to drain enough so the upper hose is empty so I can replace it because it is leaking. LIC is changing the coolant (flushing too?) in a couple thousand miles.
