+1.

This question might've been a little better received if posted in the right forum.

A lot of Subaru people are the hate on intakes, but IMO More air lets you put out more power. It depends on how much power you're lookin for, cuz I guarentee you won't be pushin high end HP without sucking more air in. As for small mods it wont make too much of a difference, you can start elsewhere first.

stock airbox is fine for most people until stage 3. stock airbox also doesnt get heatsoaked like aluminum piping will thus providing cooler, more dense air to the motar.

the problem with a lot of intakes is the diameter of the tubing where the MAF is. if it's different than stock, your car will run like *** under boost and probably lean.

even if it's the same diameter, it can still cause problems. your stock intake has a very long flow path and is baffled. this smooths out the airflow across the MAF. a short ram will have more turbulent air across the MAF, which will also cause your car to run like ***.

your best bet is to: a) leave your intake along, b) get a KN air filter if you must mod it (easy on the oil, it can gunk up your MAF and make your car run like ***), c) get an intake muffler delete like this thing: http://www.fastwrx.com/insnre.html
