P0171 lean - injector? engine bank 1?

P0171 lean - injector? engine bank 1?
my mechanic suggested the injector could be the source
P0171 is what I get
my 03wrx has 3"TBE, 2.5"UP, AEM short intake
any sugestions?
would the injector cleaner chems fix it eventually?

Front 02 sensor, Mass Air Flow sensor, boost leak to name a few. I would count on of those being the culprit before the injector. However, the injector could be the source as well. Is your idle rough at all? How is your gas mileage?

i get about 280-300 miles to the tank on the hwy cruise, with occasional downshifts. its not great.
I also have an RA gearset (Ratios -- 3.083 / 2.062 / 1.545 / 1.151 / 0.825)
idle is rough but not disturbingly shaky, i can hear it(1/4 of the stokes is noticeable) its off-beat slightly.
2 of the sparkplugs I necently replaced were slightly blackened, not solid black. (as if spray painted from inadequate distance) - now I have 1+ colder NGK iridiums.
it felt smother after using some fuel additives, I was thinking about using it again but with a half tank instead of full. hoping that would clean it.
