Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Wow, that SARD looks RICEy .

Here is a somewhat stealthier and cheaper alternative:

http://www.mastrowrx.com/

These look quite cool installed; with four variables (gauge readouts) on the screen at the same time and the boost represented as a linear value (a bar that grows and shrinks with boost level) it looks like a chunk of the Starship Enterprise has been grafted into your dash. I balked at the price, initially, but it is actually an incredible value: for instance, 4 Defi gauges with peak hold and the link module for them = $1100 + labor for the install ($160) and you'd still be 3 gauges short of what the S.E.C.S. can measure with NO sensor install.

HKB, do you have a link to that DEFI "stack?" This is the first I have heard of it. Technically, anything that can read ODBII sensors should be able to give WRX/STI drivers a readout, but I'd want something tuned specifically to read out Subaru Impreza values, like the S.E.C.S. -- boxer engines are unique animals.

Oh, and finally -- mods, this obviously belongs in Interior/Exterior, not EJ20

You can go with the Omori gauges mounted in front of your gauge cluster. Can't see them from outside unless you really look in to the car and they look awesome. Got them from www.j-spectuning.com

If you want to keep your guages low key, try going with the HKS Camp system. Its about the same price as the Defi Link meter package, but the only drawback is that you have to have a screen for it to be displayed, but it comes with a ton of features like data logging, and other goodness. CHeck out www.hksusa.com or www.z1auto.com You should be able to find plenty of info there.

Hmmm... $905.00 without install, and you don't even get a display of any kind? Last time I checked, a display like the one shown was in the $400 range, so we're talking $1300 if you install all the sensors AND the display yourself, and then you give up your stereo (both DIN slots) to boot.

thats true meilers, but you could just move the stereo to where the clock is and or is you got a flip out stereo with a screen you could use the second rca inputs for the Camp system. now you have a dvd player, cd player and a full vehicle monitoring system. Also if you think about it wiring the Defi guages with the sensors is a pain also but if you were going to do it yourself it would be the same amount of work. The only other advantage to the HKS system is the added cool factor of having it. you have to admit thats its pretty tight

Yes, it is indeed tight. However, typically people with a LCD on the dash have those RCA jacks plugged into their PlayStation 2 8)

Do you mean this?

http://www.stackinc.com/tuner.html

No offense, but that thing is UGLY. Even worse, it only displays the normal gauge information that is already normally there - speed, tach, gas mileage, trip odometer and odometer - unless you add sensors and the logging software. I suppose if you were concerned with shaving tenths of a second off your lap time or tuning your vehicle several times a year, the logging feature would be useful -- but if they are going to capture race telemetry they could at least make it look nice.
