Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

thanks for the typo correction, superglue, and the redundant posting of a link.

my turbo was fine when i took it off, despite running 20+psi before it was fashionable. there is also plenty of meat on that compressor map under 180k. you can hit 1.9pr (nearly 28psi) and stay under 170k.

Sorry, me had not looked at map for a while. Good call.

It's the tiny turbo that could. But isn't it dissapointing having all that midrange power and then having it quickly taper off towards redline? My butt dyno has never tested that set up before, just curious.

Let me put it like this, the most powerful car in Northern California is a stage 4 sti, with cams that cost over $12K, a fully built engine and it exclusively runs on race fuel. Right now that car puts down 470whp, and the mods it has are anything but minor, everything on it are the best money can buy and it is tuned by one of the best guys in the business. Right now this money no object car is running low 11's, but is capable of running mid 10's if it doesn't keep breaking things like driveshafts.

You WILL NOT get 500whp on a GT35 with minor mods, whoever told you that you will is blowing smoke right up your ***. Your gonna need SERIOUS money or a tuner that only tells you what you want to hear to get 500whp.

A GT35 might get you close on meth or alcky injection. Harman Motive in Torrance got 530awhp on Cali 91 oct with meth injection at 26.7psi. Keep in mind those numbers were attained using a Cosworth engine block (~$15,000), GT35R turbo, and extensive mods and tuning using a dynojet dyno (typically reads high).

Here's what what some good old fashion race gas can get you though...........

Mods
stock ej257
ultimate racing gt35r
ultimate racing up and down pipes
tial 44mm wastegate
hks ssqv
ultimate racing 1000cc injectors and fuel rails
walbro 255lph pump
perrin big maf
ultimate racing front mount intercooler
gt spec header
hks carbon ti catback
turbo xs utec (tuned by dan @ godspeed)
turbo xs tuner pro
apexi avcr
tgv deletes
agency power crank pulley

The 428.3whp and 368.1wtq was @ 21psi on 93oct.

The 510.4whp and 465.3wtq was @ 26psi on c16.

this was on godspeeds dynapack dyno.

Does that settle the debate for yooz guys?

hey, meilers... this rich wouldn't be the owner of the shop that did this, would it?

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...php?p=15748022

cliff notes:

customer goes from 16g to 20g, gains 16hp on the same dyno. customer is dissatisfied... rich is not.

if he can't even break 300whp on a 2.5l/20g/fmic (never mind make the customer happy), and feeds the customer some bs as to why he can't, then i have absolutely no interest in meeting him.
