oil catch can??? problem???

Ok, I ahve a perrin catach can and I have assembled the thing and I have a few question for people that know about his stuff. One, how does this thing work, it doesn't ahve a filter or anything in it, how does it trap the crap inside? Two, if you have one you will know what I am talking about, It ahve two pull-locks on the top and the bottom and they don't seem to seal real well. (if I cover all the holes and blow an air hose in one I can hear little leaks coming from them, is his normal? Three, if this is not normal what should I do to them to make a better seal?

Thanks for any help

There is a good explanation on another thread titled; install greddy oil catch tank. Do a search and type in oil catch can and you will find it (read through some of the other posts and you might find out more about the problem your haveing). From what it says you need to put something like foam or some type of oil condenceing material in the catch can. Good luck.

I would put some cotton batting in the can. As for the bad seals, you'll just have to find a way to tighten them up.

When I did the same search I found allot of info on how an oil catch can works. I guess you didnt look verry hard. In the thread I mentioned there is a link to scoobymods that shows in a drawing how a catch can works and I do beleive that was part of your question (question #1).
