granny tranny

whats up people , i have heard scary stories about people launching their subys and the tranny breaks , i just want some feedback on the wrx tranny

Most of the time that's due to people abusing it. i.e high rev launch. But the tranny is fine for a stock wrx. When you reach higher hp apps, the tranny can't hold for long with hard launches.

Explain a little more about "the tranny breaks"
There's alot of parts between the shifter and the drive.

I smoked the hell out of my stock clutch, and the upgraded to a spec stage 4 and haven't had much of a problem since.

thanks, but i dont beat the **** out of my suby and what upgrades would keep your tranny in good shape besides like aftermarket clutch for high hp applications

getting an aftermarket clutch would only worsen the problem. During a hard launch the clutch will grab tightly as oppose to the stock one that would slip more.
