It's designed to cool the intercooler and increase it's efficiency, not cool the intake charge directly. As it is, the factory intercooler is hard to beat at near-stock power levels. You can't really do much better than getting the charge back to within 12-15 degrees F of ambient.

It's worth a shot. however, i'd try a DIY intercooler sprayer first for cheap and see if that does the trick. I know how hot it gets in LA... i used to live in the a$$hole of the USA... AKA ft.polk. LOVED New Orleans though
