N-tercooler Intercooler Chiller
I was telling Carlos about this, so what does everyone think: http://www.fastwrx.com/nterinchil.html? I'm not interested in it, but I wonder if it really gives 50 HP.

Well...cold air is really good for your power. Dunno bout 50HP unless you have a fully modded out 500HP monster!.
For our cars I'd say 15HP max with a huge amount of reassurance that your engine is getting cold air.
Maybe we could dyno someone's 2wd Turbo car and hold up ice packs to it...then see the results?

i remember reading about the ntercooler power gains on a s13/s14 conversion somewhere. i can't remember what magazine it was from, but i'll post up when i find the article.
HOWEVER...I have an experiment that I'd like you tracks people to try.
Take some bottles of Air Duster. That's the cans of compressed air used to clean computer keyboards and stuff. When you turn it upside down and spray it shoots out the liquid air at a much higher density and yes it is cold.
When at tracks and around when you get to the burnout area. Try spaying a whole can of that stuff all over your IC. That would be cool if it worked for tracks purposes. Though I guess you'd need another person to help.
The stuff is pretty cold man...I sprayed my wall with it upside down and it was durn cold.

I just want to say "be careful" when using that canned air in liquid form. Treat it as if it's liquid nitrogen. The stuff I use is so cold that the liquid freezes soft and liquid matter almost instantly. Seems odd, but I use the stuff to kill centipedes. It's clean and leaves no poison residue. When I mean freeze -- I really mean it. You tap the centipede and it shatters. Spray it on a flower and it shatters when you "clink" it.
I'm sure most of these products are the same, so treat it with care. You'll get very severe frostbite if it splashes onto your skin. Heaven forbid it splashes into your eye (in case you plan on dumping a whole can onto you intercooler, take extra caution).
Just my heads-up. Great product for cooling things down. but don't be wreckless and take it for granted.

I tried that and there are several problems with doing that:
1. It bends the intercooler fins if you are not very careful
2. Evaporates too quickly
3. Not cold enough to make much of a performance gain (at least from what I have read)
4. You get yelled at if you drip water on the track
Dry ice is too drastic. If you hit a bump your intercooler would be shattered. With NOS it looks like it cools it below freezing, but not to the point of shattering. The are also sequential systems that spray large bursts of NOS to cool the intercooler. I thought of the spray air also, but by the time that you got one side of the intercooler cooled down the other side would be completely back to normal. CO2, now that is an idea! ...I'll ponder that for a little while...
