Not another accident!!!
I just wanted to take a moment to compliment on the Impreza's ability to withstand damage. It's been 10 months and 24,000 miles, and I have already been involved in 2 accidents (none were my fault in anyway). The first one was the night I purchased my WRX (7 hours after purchase to be exact). A nice big GMC pick-up decided he didn't want to stop for his redlight and slammed into my front right corner travelling an estimated 25-30 miles an hour. A lot of things were sure shifted around, but completly drivable and it barely even looked like it was in an accident. Tonight was nothing special, just a rear-ender, but still, when I got out and looked there was no visible damage (other than some paint scratches).
Thus brings me to a question: In a rear-end accident such as this, what are all the possible parts that could be effected and damaged? I am going to take my rex in for service soon and I just want to be aware of what they will look at as well as I want to specify that they examine specific areas.
Thanks in advance.
Todd

my subby
my subby was in 2 accidents as well but the funny
thing about it was I was never in the car for either
of them. 1 was a hit'n'run in a mall parking lot and
another one was at a house party where some
nerd decided to pull a U-boat doing 50 mph in a
Galant and slammed into an Exclipse which pushed
4 cars and the 4th car hit the back of my car. Only
damage was by the license plate but that was all
fixed when the retard in the parking lot hit me. I
just had the back bumper cover replaced. No body
damage just mainly paint.
The suby survives. I've had a lot of near-misses
with deer though. They are very attracted to me for
some reason. I hit 2 already with a Corvette and
another with a Sunbird Convertible when I was
17. (actually, it jumped into the side of my car) ha

I know you weren't hit from the oblique, and I'm not reporting this first hand, but my wife told me the other night that one of the news shows (60 min or 20/20, I have no idea) reported that our cars were rated #1 for moving oblique wrecks, the kind where they launch another vehicle at our babies in order to record the amount and type of damage.
Pretty good, huh?
