Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Not another accident!!!

I just wanted to take a moment to compliment on the Impreza's ability to withstand damage. It's been 10 months and 24,000 miles, and I have already been involved in 2 accidents (none were my fault in anyway). The first one was the night I purchased my WRX (7 hours after purchase to be exact). A nice big GMC pick-up decided he didn't want to stop for his redlight and slammed into my front right corner travelling an estimated 25-30 miles an hour. A lot of things were sure shifted around, but completly drivable and it barely even looked like it was in an accident. Tonight was nothing special, just a rear-ender, but still, when I got out and looked there was no visible damage (other than some paint scratches).

Thus brings me to a question: In a rear-end accident such as this, what are all the possible parts that could be effected and damaged? I am going to take my rex in for service soon and I just want to be aware of what they will look at as well as I want to specify that they examine specific areas.

Thanks in advance.

Todd

I know you weren't hit from the oblique, and I'm not reporting this first hand, but my wife told me the other night that one of the news shows (60 min or 20/20, I have no idea) reported that our cars were rated #1 for moving oblique wrecks, the kind where they launch another vehicle at our babies in order to record the amount and type of damage.

Pretty good, huh?
