New mod questions

I got a TXS TBE for Christmas, and have a TXS uppipe on order. I also have boost and egt gauges to install. What
EGT's should i expect from this. Also do I need engine management (TXS UTEC). I don't wanna run lean and mess that little 4 banger up. I also would like to know of any reputable shops in the Houston area, or someone to help out on the install for a few dollars. Thanks and hope everyone had a great X mas.

Just installing a turboback exhaust and uppipe will not lean out your car. And as far as getting a UTEC or any form of engine management, if you really want to extract the most potential amount of power from our car, you'll need it. But for the most part just opening up your exhaust system is enough to put a grin on your face.

As for EGT's, each car will vary, and to be honest since your not upping the boost from what your mod list says... I wouldn't worry until then.

i have the exact same setup as you except i have an injen cai. well my egts are around 830-840C at WOT in 4th gear. crusing around town in boost...it will be around 750C~. climbing a hill at partial throttle and in boost in a high gear got me around 850-860C. so thatll work your egts alot. but yeah...as long as ur running stock boost...ur fine in terms of knock and super high egts. u will get a p0420 cel though..so i recommend a mil elimnator or evailmotorsports.com but i have yet to notice anything abnormal about my car with my intake on. i dont knock and my timing isnt being pulled. but i dont recommend buying one..cuz its a waste of money.
