Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Hey everyone I'm new to this form and to WRX's. I bought a WRX just a few days ago, and wanted to know what are some good first mods to do to these cars? I was thinking

Intake
BOV
Turbo back exhaust
Bigger Turbo (nothing huge with alot of lag this is my daily driver) if someone could recomend a good turbo for me that would be kool also
and of corse all the proper tuning for this stuff

What do yall think?
I've heard alot of people argue about intakes, but I've also heard you can just get a bigger turbo with the intake and nothing should be wrong.

Thanks for any info
Chris

Talking

definitly a cat back or turbo back! I would wait on the intake if you plan on getting a cobb accessport, they dont recomend it. BOV are just there for the sound. If you are looking for hp Then I would do a turboback, uppipe and relace ic hoses. You can do all of them yourself to save on money! Hope this helps!

Just look on the forum or go to a local subaru tunning shop and talk to the guys in the shop. If there are any get togethers go to them and see what other guys have on there suby, I would hate for you to spend your money on a mod that you will only take out because it doesn't mesh well with another. I've bought so much stuff then resold it when it wasnt compatible with another mod I wanted. It sucks, just keep looking and asking questions! It never hurts.

this is the way I would do it if I were you (and if I were to do it over again)

1) cobb AccessPort with stage 1 map
2) buy the TBE, up-pipe, and IC hoses
3) install the exhaust parts and the IC hoses...and then get the car protuned soon after
----a protune is a custom made map for the accessport, this will get the most power out of your mods and will be safer for your engine
4) enjoy
5) you can get a larger turbo later on and with the Cobb AP you can easily grow with your mods

Thanks for the info guys. I'll check around, and look for some other subby guys along with some shops maybe. Then after some more learning I'll start to mod.
