need help on exhaust
hey everybody, I really need your help. I'm planning on putting an Exhaust on my 03' wrx.
I was thinking about and HKS Carbon-Ti exhaust. Now my questin is, what are all the things i need with it? ....
I know up-pipe and down-pipe but do I need a mid-pipe? Or anything else?
I was also planning on getting a Vishnu 304 felx-up pipe and a vishnu down pipe. Any sugestions or is that good? Thanks a ton for your help.

I recommend getting your entire turbo back from the same place. Vishnu's turboback makes as much power as any other and is of top notch quality.
Disclaimer: I am an employee at Vishnu, so don't take my word for it. Just ask around and try to find somebody who isn't pelased with their Vishnu exhaust.

I agree with Ban Suvs about getting all the same stuff. I say that because you know you won't have any fitment issues ie. length, diameter, etc. However, with what you want to get, you shouldn't have any problem. I have the HKS cat-back and Vishnu down-pipe. Everything fit just fine and have not had any problems. However, you will still have your stock mid-pipe (3rd cat). Don't know if you want to keep that or not. Vishnu has good parts/quality, though you may spend a little more for it. Like the wise man once, said, you get what you pay for.
hey thanks a lot everybody. what kind of vishnu exhaust is recomemded? Jus wondering.
Anyways, how do you like the sound and performance of your exhaust with the downpipe?

Not sure if you were asking me or not. Mine is a little loud if you get on it. Has a pretty throaty sound to it and is fairly deep. There is also a slight pop to it when you downshift sometimes. That sort of sounds cool. The Vishnu one isn't as loud, but still sounds cool. Both are good quality.
As for the mid-pipe, it isn't really going to matter. All it is, is a short section of pipe that is minus the cat between the down-pipe and cat-back section. You will probably have to put the resistor thinga ma jigger on so you don't get a cel since you won't have the cats anymore after the turbo. Best of all, this is easy to do yourself. Just make sure all the bolts from the down-pipe to the turbo are tight or else you will get that annoying leak that sounds like a loud whistle.
