N1 Exhausts

Are there any N1 style (angled) exhausts that aren't super loud?

I really like the look, but I don't want to be setting off car alarms and getting pulled over by the fuzz all the time.

I'm planning to eventually mate the cat-back with a Cobb Catted DP or a Helix Catted DP (when it comes out!)... but I don't want it to be super-freaking loud. I also don't want to have to leave a silencer in all the time.

Any ideas?

Being loud is fun lol....sorry I'll get to the subject....N1 exhausts are all loud.....if you want quiet you might have to look at something else...like a borla Hush system.

Travis: the Apex N-1 is pretty quiet, but's it's not so great performance-wise. Its 2.5 in piping is a bit too restrictive.
IMHO, the HKS Hi-Power isn't too loud. You heard Marshall's right? Just kinda deep is all.
That's all I can think of for quiet N-1 style exhausts for now...

Thanks Ryan (Go Dons!)

I guess I'll have to look at other exhausts (I was thinking about the Stromung single tip).

But damn... I love the way the N1 exhausts looks. --Tanabe Ultra Medalion... drool. If I could get a not so loud version of that, I would be all over it.

Hey Travis, you sure you want to go with an angled exhaust? I used to love the look of it, but now I'm not really into it anymore because of the attention it brings. Maybe you want to try out the Espelir exhaust. It's angled and pretty much looks like an hks hi power. If you change the dp and/or mp (even with high flow cat) it may be louder though (as with any other exhaust).

I think you should check out the Greddy Evo still. It's barely louder catless than with all the cats in place. Plus you get a sound certificate to go with it in case you get hassled by cops.

HKS has a certificate you can get too that says it's 50 state legal.

Thanks guys... an exhaust with paperwork would be cool. That would probably save a lot of headaches when getting pulled over .... just so long as the cop doesn't know that I'd removed the factory cats when I go turbo-back! :-)

Ryan & Marshall... any meets or anything going on in the SF/BA this weekend? The GF is out of town so I don't have any plans.

Be sure to make it to the Mt Hamilton meet. Can't missed that one. Biggest meet of the year.

The Apex N-1 is "wake up the dead" loud on a 2.5RS.
It's "quiet as the grave" on the WRX.

I've been doing some reading and it looks like the 5Zigen Fireball isn't very loud. It has a resonater sitting behind the can so that quiet's id down a lot. Anyone have any experience with this exhaust?

The only thing that doesn't look cool about the fireball is it has coated mild steel piping (not SS). I guess it's coated so it shouldn't rust.
