My car feels super laggy

I have a 04 WRX. It was feeling fine up to lastnight. When i was driving it, the throttle felt really weak. My short ram isn't sucking in any air. That was one of the first things i noticed. The car just wasn't picking up like it usually does. I just had my tranny replaced this past christmas. Does anyone know what might be the problem. I was thinking either my turbo, which I pray to god is isn't or it may be some spark plugs. Anyone know?

There is no way to aid your trouble shooting with so little information.

what kind of engine management do you have? Maybe the car reverted to safe mode for some reason...good luck!

Well, the car seems to be running fine when i drove to work this morning. The SHort Ram is sucking in air. Lastnight, it wasn't making the normal suction sound that it usually makes, but now it's accompanied by a high pitched whistling sound. I know it's my info is not much to diagnose, but i'm just putting down what i've felt and observed. I don't have any engine management on the car at this time. It still feels a bit laggy. No boast gauge either.

High pitch whistling, you've got a leak in you exhaust. Probably in your up-pipe. Take it to GST or something where they can pull a data log and get some real data to get this fixed for you.

Would replacing the up-pipe all together fix the problem since i'm looking to take the stock one out and replace it with an aftermarket?

If the problem lies in one of gaskets on either end of the upipe, yes. If not, no.

we'll here's how you troubleshoot. alot of people on here are offering no advice just make like they know what's up. if you replaced your trans, check out your clutch/flywheel. could be your turbo which if it is, you could be lucky that its not your clutch slippin. turbo would be considered minor as appose to a clutch job. can't be your spark plugs mang. the reason why i say its your turbo is because i had the same problem and i got a digital boost controller. it only peaked boost at 3psi-6ish no higher. but when i diagnosed it, it was my clutch when i pulled my trans out. my clutch shattered and my flywheel exploded (believe it or not). when i replaced my clutch and flywheel again after replacing it, the car drove fine and it turned out not to be my turbo. but i got the same problem your listing as the turbo felt laggy. in actuality in my case it was my clutch/flywheel. i went ahead and replaced my master cylinder and clutch slave. the car ran fine and it wasen't my turbo. you mentioned you replaced your trans; so to troubleshoot in your case, could be the following: clutch/flywheel/turbo. if your trans was done professionally, and not trying to scare you or anything but it could just be as small as a turbo to be replaced. for all that is worse, check your oil when your racing; always check your ***kin oil before you start your car up if your racing. simple trick to prolong the life of your car and your turbo. i hope my basic knowledge can help you if you haven't already had your car looked at. good luck
