Mods WITHOUT Chip?
Hey bros,
Gotta question:
If Im gonna run High flow Upipe/Downpipe, Full catless exhaust (ScoobySport,etc,etc)
Free flow Filter (K&N, etc)
Do I HAVE to MOD THE ECU?...(Piggyback,Ecutek,Vish,etc)
Seems to me you would go WAY lean on the stock ECU if you didnt alter the params.?
I know that on my Harley (fuel inj.) I had to "Reflash" when I run it modded.
Are any of you runnin WITHOUT ECU Mods with above simular setup?

The factory ECU can handle those mods.
You could possibly "Tune" more power into those mods with some "chip type solution" but the FECU won't run lean with that set-up on stock boost.
It is a very advanced piece of equipment.
Don't worry about the ECU until you get a new turbo.

I appreciate the input guys!
Im just gonna do this a step atta time and didnt wanna buy a new motor yet...
I live in a "EPA" unfriendly state and never know when these arsholes are gonna start "testing" again and I dont want to be switchin pipes,etc everydam year..
Anybody know what the "core" charge is on the ECUTEK from VISHNU?, Or if you can even KEEP your ECU?
Dam, I hate the EPA!!!!!!

I'm in the same position as Shotgun, except I have a Unichip. What I want to do is sell the unichip and the manual boost controller so that I can get the new Greddy boost controller. When I put the Unichip on, I didn't see much of a gain, so I figured that it was pretty much a waste. I'm not real sure though since I didn't have my EGT guage hooked up at the time. What I did notice was a little hesitation at low rpm's. So, should I go ahead and sell the Unichip and get the ebc, or just stick with what I have? Oh yeah, I do have the Apex-i SAFC to controll the fuel a little bit. Would this make a difference?
