Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Is it me or does my MPG suck?

If your rpm's are consistently high and you are seeing boost
your mpg will suffer. If your current tune is safe you don't need
a retune.I get 21-22 mpg town and highway driving. If you are
concerned about your mpg you should be easier on the gas pedal lol.

My '02 WRX wagon gets 21-24 mpg consistently, with much of the mileage on one of NY's very nice parkways. I have 62K miles on it, and it is SRS. I do use about 1.5 qts of oil per 3K miles. I attribute this to a huge melt down that happened at 35K, when the cam belt tensioner let go and took out all the valves, etc. Even around town driving still shows 20+ mpg. I do not always spare the ponies, and it seems to make little difference, over all.

18 for the city is really not that bad....I get avarage of about 23mpg and I have a stage 5 wrx with a 18g at 23psi and %100 meth. When I to on trips to Lake tahow I get about 27mpg.....I think for the mods that you have you are fine, also how old is your oil, and have you changed your spark plugs?

you guys think you mpg is bad, my 04 12in lift Titan gets 8 mpg. Hope to be selling it soon to get a wrx. It's sad when you know your Suburban is the car that gets the best gas mileage.

I recently had a check engine light come on, and the O2 sensor was the culprit. Then, about 10 days later, it came on again! This time, the dealer recommended a re-flash that Subaru said would correct error messages (my readout was that there was a #1 and #3 misfire....but it was running fine.) Now my average mileage has picked up a bit....but it will take a long time to recover the flash cost, even at today' premium gas prices. Has anyone else had such a problem?
