blowing his engine up because of a mistake is one thing, ripping SOA off is another.
I think statman did a good thing for every Subaru owner.

By doing this he showed SOA that there are honest Subaru owners who could be trusted and maybe if this happened more often some of the more legitimate claims will be covered in the future.
Now tell me why him ripping the dealer off by replacing all the parts and, I quote, "playing dumb" is a good thing? why are you defending him?

Interesting.
What would I do? Understand that the mods on my car can void my warrantee? It's called personal responsibility. If you want to play you gotta pay. (Yes I've been denied warranty service.... I know the game... the hard way.
And it's not beign a 'rat fink' it's protecting your intrests and our intrests for those that actually HAVE a legitimate claim where the mods didn't cause the problem.
It's called 'do the right thing'.

What happened was justice. If Subaru got tricked into covering his car under warrenty it would have been injustice. Statman did a good thing because he helped see that justice was done.
When I read that his work was going to be covered under warrenty it made me feel sick. It is people that think it is ok defraud the system (as long as they get theirs) that brings this whole country down. It is that kind of mentality that has us all paying unfairly.

BTW karma is the balance between right and wrong. In this case statman did the right thing. Maybe you should think about what you say before you say it.

Claims and Morality
C'mon guys, admit that they're irresponsible mods, and consqences, VS responsible mods. and legit. claims. It's easy and conveniate to side with the small consumer, vs SOA. GREAT victory for the small guy, but, in essence, he weakened our position for legit claims as responsible Suby owners. HE lyed to the dealership, who. accepted his "story" in good faith, and supported his claims. He did NOTHING to enhance our credibility as informed, responsible Suby owners Sincerely, Collins
