Knockoff flex up-pipe?

I saw this flex uppipe on eBay for $109. It doesn't say Helix anywhere, so it appears to be a knock-off (I think Helix is the only company that makes flex pipes). Should I be concerned about the quality of the pipe? Is it worth it to save almost $100 for a non-name brand pipe? Or should I just buck up and pay for the name and the peace of mind?

i wouldnt try it, uppipd are really easy to leak and if the knock-off is not well design then you will need to either buy a better one or somehow fix the knock-off pipe. which might cost alot of time and money

If you deceide to save some money on parts by not buying 'bling' names...that's cool...just not the up-pipe...you want to buy ONE and install it ONCE.....the Helix one is a great pipe.

You should be able to find a helix for about $130 on ebay if you look hard enough.

ummm... Helix is NOT the only company making flex uppipes. In fact, almost every major company (and most of the smaller ones) that offers a WRX uppipe offers it in both flex and non-flex. I must also agree with the others here- the uppipe is definitely not an item you want to go cheap on and end up removing/repairing/replacing down the line. Go with a wel-known producer or quality fabricator on this one.

In fact, I would always avoid the cheapy stuff on eBay unless it's something really simple like a shifter or light bulbs. And even then, you get what you pay for. (I have a discount eBay short shifter and it works great, but rattles like a **** because the fit and finish is not up to par.)

I thought helix is a well know company. That's why I bought it off ebay.

Helix is pretty good stuff. I'm referring to the stuff you've probably never heard of outside of ebay.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the input! I've been trying to find a Helix uppipe on eBay for a while now with no luck. All I see are these damn knock-offs. I'll just keep looking...
