Question K & N Typhoon CAI

Does anyone have this application?? If you do, do you feel any performance results? I know that CAI's dont really help the wrx but KN has a good history with performance needs. I was doing some research and it seems pretty reliable, but I want to hear your thoughts.

i have had several different intakes on my car, and NONE of them worked better then the stock airbox with a upgraded panel filter.

hey international, just out of curiosity, which intakes have tried? Also, which upgraded panel filter are you using? I am considering a Perrin drop in filter.

im using an itg drop in panel. i have had the following intakes on my wrx: aem cai, aem short ram, injen cai, injen short ram, weapon r cai, blitz air sus.

they all had differnt effects, some produced more hp, but most the gain of hp wasnt enough to compensate for the loss of torque. none of them had the same smoothness of throttle response that the stock airbox does.

i think the K&N drop in is your best bet.........

I have the Typhoon, ty K&N for prototyping for my car..........

It looks kewl, sound good, but no real performance upgrades.......

The sound is really loud, you can hear outside the car...........

Where is the best place to order the ITG filter?
Also with the cost of most CAI would you see more of a performance gain with a larger TMIC like the STI(ebay) orther aftermarket brand? I mean they cost a little more but if the performance is there then I would say its worth it.

An opinion (which I agree with) on cold-air intakes.
