I am thinking about using a drop-in K7N on my '02 WRX. I have a few questions:
1) Should I expect any performance impreovements?
2) I have heard peole complain about erratic power fluctuations after K&N install. Any merit to that?
3) Does the oil from the filter mess up the MAP (or do we have a MAF) sensor? Which one does the WRX have and is it affected by the oil blow-by from the filter?
4) Is it worth $40?
Thanks in advance for your opinions!

1.) No
2.) Yes, if you overoil the filter
3.) Just gets it dirty, there are numerous threads on it's cleaning over at NABISCO
4.) I don't think so.
I've been running them on both of my WRX's for ~15,000mi, and I'm actually cleaning them both right now
. The cleaning kit costs $12 and seems like it will do about 4 cleanings. From a cost perspective I don't think it's worth it.

Just make sure to use your brain and NOT believe that retarded Vishnu claim that "the K&N lost 1-2hp" on his dyno. I guarantee that is WELL within the run-to-run-variability.
