Ok, it's February now, my car was rear ended back in August. Brand spanking new 04 WRX Wagon. The car has been sitting in the shop since. They finally finished painting it and they are sending it off to Subaru service to be fixed.

The quarter panel, passenger frame rail, floor pan, rear bumper rebar, and a lot of stuff was damaged. I mean the floor panel was so hurt that we couldn't get the spare out of it.

Well I took it to one of the best shops in town to get it down. Thumbs up for quality but to be honest it's been way too long. Well I just wanted to know what you guys thought could be wrong with the transmission.

So here are the symptoms. The car feels like it's in neutral when you play with the shiftknob, however there is less play and when you play with it, it grinds. When you press on the clutch it will disengage but you can't shift out of first gear. Thoughts?
