Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

hey, I just installed a hks ssq bov and I was wondering is it suppose to make the sound when its in neutral. Because mines only makes the sound when driving. I tried reving it a couple of times, when i was parked but didn't hear anything. So what im asking is, is it suppose to be like this or am i suppose to fix it

Bingo! Thats exactly the reason. When the car isn't in gear (or under load), the turbo won't spool at all (well, it'll spin a little bit perhaps, but it won't make much boost). If the turbo doesn't spool, then you won't get the 'woosh' sound out of the BOV.

If you've got a boost gauge installed, you'll notice that if the car is in neutral and you gun it, the boost gauge doesn't go up at all; it sticks just slightly above 0. You need boost pressure before the BOV can release it (and make the cool 'woosh').
