wow i must have missed that post...the car is running great now...the AVCS is working perfectly..now the car is leaking boost somewhere...if i am on the accelerator all the way it is fine, and if i am under 1/4 throttle it is also ok...anything between though the boost spikes up really quick and then it sounds like my BOv is rapidly opening and closing...other than that the car runs great

Im currently swapping a JDM STI v.8 motor and tranny into my car and have the same problem. I cant find any info on how to wire the bloody thing. Ive talked to lachute and a few other places, but all they give me are the pin out sheets which do me no good. I need to know what goes where etc, what gets eliminated etc etc. Becouse on the sti motor there are sensors etc that the wrx doesnt have, and vice versa.
Also lachute told me to use the wrx engine and wiring harness, and that they always do it that way. Anybody know where i can get the info for this engine swap, my mechanic is getting pissed becouse im tying up his lift and he needs the proper diagrams to find out how to wire the engine.
All help is greatly appreciated.

if your mechanic is any good, the pinout diagrams will be enough to show him how to properly do it. if you have the v.8 sti harness that came with the engine(not chassis harness) you can use it. you should only need to add 8 wires. nothing else will change, just add the add'tl wires.

One thing that is different on the V8 from the V7 is the throttle cable distance so you may need to fab a bracket for that.

My STI engine harness was cut at each cord about a half inch before the bloody plug, what was so hard about just unplugging the stupid thing. Idiots

Ya so was I. they told us they have never used the jdm engine harness etc due to the length of wires being for a rhd vehicle.

They are right, there is no reason to use the JDM harness for your swap. You might want to take the parts from it for the AVCS hookup though.

Ya, the problem is still figuring out how to wire the rest of the engine up so we can get it in the car and off the lift.

The only wires left to add are the AVCS they rest should be putting back what you took out.

. We have the info for the avcs, we just need the proper info for everything else becouse they dont match up perfectly as everyone likes to think, there are differences and we need to know how to deal with them.
It would be great if there was someone in south florida or a place down here that have done this or knows how to. Anyone fit that profile?

Quick question about the JDM STI ECU wiring setup.
I recieved an awsome layout from lachute showing what WRX pin gets matched up to the STI pin etc etc on the ecu.
I dug around and found a WRX wiring diagram showing me that a5 is located here etc etc. So now we know which pin is a5 and so forth.
The problem is, how do we figure out which pin on the STI is which. Like which one is 124 or 127 etc etc . Anybody know, once we figure this out we can finish the car, everything else is done.
Heres basically what lachutes layout looks like:
WRX USDM color Description JDM Color STI
A5 blue Cam sensor Red 126
So we know where A5 etc are located no problem, but where is the 126 etc on the JDM ECU??
