Ive talked to lachute and a few other places, but all they give me are the pin out sheets which do me no good. I need to know what goes where etc, what gets eliminated etc etc. Becouse on the sti motor there are sensors etc that the wrx doesnt have, and vice versa.

Also lachute told me to use the wrx engine and wiring harness, and that they always do it that way. Anybody know where i can get the info for this engine swap, my mechanic is getting pissed becouse im tying up his lift and he needs the proper diagrams to find out how to wire the engine.

All help is greatly appreciated.

if your mechanic is any good, the pinout diagrams will be enough to show him how to properly do it. if you have the v.8 sti harness that came with the engine(not chassis harness) you can use it. you should only need to add 8 wires. nothing else will change, just add the add'tl wires.

Yup Aaron is right, the V8 JDM is nothing like the V8 USDM which would be a little harder to do. You can drop the motor in and run it off the USDM WRX harness just fine, if you want AVCS add the wires if not don't!

One thing that is different on the V8 from the V7 is the throttle cable distance so you may need to fab a bracket for that.

Ya so was I. they told us they have never used the jdm engine harness etc due to the length of wires being for a rhd vehicle.

My STI engine harness was cut at each cord about a half inch before the bloody plug, what was so hard about just unplugging the stupid thing. Idiots
They are right, there is no reason to use the JDM harness for your swap. You might want to take the parts from it for the AVCS hookup though.

Ya, the problem is still figuring out how to wire the rest of the engine up so we can get it in the car and off the lift.
What rest of the engine? You just plug back what you took off the stocker.

The only wires left to add are the AVCS they rest should be putting back what you took out.
