The best advice I can ever give you for Intercooler hose install. Makes everything simpler (or even possible) and makes things easier for taking it off again.
I can't stress this enough. Those crappy hose clamps they give you from the factory suck! Things will go so much easier if you use them.

all the hose clamps come off pretty easy. But that darn lower clamp on the BOV recirc hose just SUCKS. Its the "squeeze together to open the ring" style and they put (at least on mine) the two points to squeeze together facing down. Anyway, have fun.

Put a bit of WD40 on the lips of the hoses to make them easier to slide on.

Dj kiyoshi-- WTF are you trying to talk about when you reference..... "thingy"??

Anywho...I'd rather use say.. silcone spray than wd40 on hoses..

Replace the hose clamps like others have said.

All in all its quite a simple procedure.. as is pretty much everything is related to subaru motors and older vws (50s-70s).

Just take your time and be sure everything is on where it should be and that you have no leaks.
