ive been told by people, when it comes to the intake stay stock unless ur pumpin out a lot of horsepower. im staying stock and taking out the "snorkus" on the stock intake assembly.

It is a good idea to stay stock until:

1. You are pushing a bigger turbo/ lots more HP

2. Are custom dyno tuning your car after every performance modification.

Other than that, you may be throwing a lean code, the MAF sensor attached to your intake may be relocated and cause drivability problems, all in all your car will not like having that on there unless one or both of #'s 1 and 2 are filled.
