Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Installed a H-RFL. Smells like egg now.

Installed a H-RFL. Smells like egg now.

I recently installed a H-RFL bov and seem to be having a few problems.

I'm getting egg smells from under the hood.
Could the BOV be leaking exhaust or am I just running rich?

I thought adjusting the BOV would help but I couldn't figure out if I had to increase or decrease the tension. I increased it alittle and now the car idles kinda funny. Also The revs seem too drop too low after I depressed the gas at a stop.
Any advice?

egg smell is not rich, it's lean.

advice, put your stock bypass valve back on. BOV's do nothing other than make cool sounds and actually hurt performance.

I agree. I use to have an HKS SSQ BOV on my WRX and took it off after about a year.

The difference: w/the STOCK BOV it drives so much more smooooooth. Definitely get rid of that BOV.
