Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Install average cost for turbo etc?

Ok. so I'm looking at putting a bigger turbo on the ol Bucket.

I'm pretty sure I want an 18 turbo.. Or maybe a VF 43, no wait..

Well anyway.. I'm trying to figure out how much the install and tune is going to set me back so I can get the cash ready.

How much did it cost ya'll to get your turbos put in bolted on etc? Or did you just DIY?

Once again...

I did mine myself. It's pretty straight forward. Just remember you'll have to purchase all new gaskets for the uppipe to turbo and turbo to downpipe. I'm probably forgetting some stuff tho.

I'd assume you have EM already then.

Yeah have AP-1. Only issue is getting a map for 18G. They have 16G and VF34 and 39 I think but nothing on the 18G.

DIY, you'll not only save money, but you'll start learning where all the parts are that you're going to have to replace when you break them. Hehe, tuning however, is a different story. I always leave that up to someone who knows what they are doing.

Id go VF34/39 depending on your budget.

I guess it really depends on what you want out of your car.

I think the 18G on a stock 2L without meth is iffy.

As for doing install do it yourself if you have the tools and confidence.
