Be sure to follow the owners manual. I have an 02 and am able to start the car without touching the throttle in anything from low-30 degree weather, up to 100+ degrees. I've never had to 'pump' the gas pedal, which I think might flood the engine under some circumstances.

Also, your car is under warranty so if you can't figure it out from tips posted in the other thread, don't hesitate to schedule an appointment with the dealer. You may have to leave it overnight so that they can duplicate the cold start condition.

I clicked on the Search button at the top of the page. Entered keywords 'hard AND starting' and the thread about hard starting came up in a few seconds. i-Club has a good search feature is very handy and a real time-saver.

You can't flood your engine with EFI when the car is off.

This is correct but the ECU can be set to enrichen a cold start by turning the ignition to the on position and depressing the gas pedal halfway down before turning the key to the start position. This might possibly flood the engine if the weather conditions don't require a special cold start (I've never had to use it). In any case, the Owners Manual has a procedure to start the vehicle in the event of flooding on page 7-9 (2002 manual).
