how much hp gain for installing the hks downpipe

how much hp gain for installing the hks downpipe

the 3" downpipe for the wrx? I already have a tanaba cat back exhust..

should I replace the midcat pipe with a high flow to get more hp? would it make a difference?

or should I save up for a better downpipe if the hks doenst make a difference..

I thought that the hks and most down pipes replace the down pipe and the mid pipe

but maby I useing the wrong terminlogy s/p

There are 4 pieces in the stock turboback exhast. Some people call the mid section with the resonator a mid pipe, and others call the mid section with the cat a mid pipe. Most aftermarket downpipes replace the first 2 pieces after the turbo therefor most people ccll the section with the resonator the midpipe because now with the aftermarket DP there is only 3 pieces.

i have this exact setup hks dp and tanabe cat back ..

i still have the stock up pipe

my opinion:
save your $ on the DP
buy and uppipe and engine management much more bang for the buck

I too have the Tanabe RM with the HKS DP as well, though I also have an up-pipe and a Uni-chip. I thought the down-pipe was a great bang-for-the-buck mod at $180. Getting rid of the two cats definately freed up power especially in the high end. though, If you don't have an up-pipe yet, get that first.
