the hks downpipe is ok. It's a flat flange, not a bellmouth, which blocks the wastegate. This might hamper your performance if you want a big power setup (eg you want to replace the turbo). For most applications, it should be fine.

 

DONT buy a hks downpipe new . . . its NOT worth the price ! you can find one used for 100. i would reccomend the Helix dp

get a bellmouth downpipe. I have the invidia downpipe and it adds a lot of power.

 

You should definitely replace the downpipe gasket every time that you take off the downpipe. It isn't that expensive, and I have found that I always get leaks when I don't use fresh gaskets.

I've got a hks bellmouth cat-less downpipe...I LOVE it! Roughly $130 new. My turbo sounds soo frikkin sick now!

HKS makes the single worst aftermarket downpipe on the market. Save up for a used downpipe from someone in the classifieds.

 

I didn't see how any other downpipe is superior to hks. Mine looks almost identical to invidias..

 

as far as I know the hks is a flat flange(unless they have recently changed it) in wich case the invidea, or just about any other dp is far superior. the hks is the same design as the stocker, minus a couple cats.

 

the hks downpipe is only worth it if you buy it for under 100 . . . if you paid more for it you just got ripped off ! its an alright dp but you can get more power from a belmouth or divorced dp
