How does your 03 WRX idle?

Hello all,
Maybe I've just become paraoid lately, but I am wondering if my 03 WRX isn't going to idle speed quite properly at all times. I've had the car since January, and sadly I can't remember exactly how it used to idle. Maybe nothing is wrong, but it just doesn't feel right all the time. If any of you could contribute how yours idles (although this could be different with every car, or with location and demographics) I would greatly appreciate it.
For example, if I'm driving and I put the car in neutral and let the clutch out, the RPM's drop nicely until they hit about 1500-1250RPMs, then it seems to almost stop, maybe bob up and down a little, and go to about 500RPMS. The whole "hesitating" thing lasts from 1-3 seconds usually.
Secondly, as I slow to a stop at a stop sign I have the car in neutral (idle at 500RPMs). Just before I come to a complete stop, I but the car into 1st gear, and the RPM's almost immidiately rise to 1000RPMs. It just doesn't feel right, I can really tell it in my hands through the shifter. But, then again, I might just be paraoid with a nice new car.
Finally, rarely, and extremely rarely, something really wierd happens with the RPMS. This is very infrequent, sometimes happens once a month, sometimes even less than that. It happened to occur tonight. For some reason, the RPMs take forever to go down whenever this happens. If I were to rev the engine from neutral, the RPMs would take at least twice as long to go all the way down. For example, if I'm driving and it happens and I shift gear, the RPMs take 3-4 seconds longer to drop. It is hard to explain, and I can never duplicate the event, it just simply happens. Imagine revving your car up to 5000RPMs, and then slowely letting your foot off for about 5 seconds. Like that, if you can follow my poor description.
The car is still under warantee, and no engine modifications other than a K&N and GFB 50/50 bov set to run at 50/50. I will eventually have to make the 400 mile trek to the nearest dealer to get this cruise control clip installed (yes, closest is 400 miles) so maybe I can have them take a look at the idle controls as well.
Thanks for any contribution!

As far as the revs climbing when you shift into first while moving, that's part of downshifting. Nothing abnormal there.
BOV may be causing your other problems, though. You might try reverting to stock and see if that fixes it.

the BOV may be causing your idle problems. make sure to take if off when you go to the dealer. if its on there they will proabbly deny your warranty b/c BOV's have been known to cause idle problems, among other things.
^what they said. They'll take a look at it, but if u have your gfb bov on, they'll make you pay for the technician's time to look at it if they find out that the bov was causing the problem.
So, basically, try going back to the stock bov and reset your ecu just to make sure before heading to the dealership.

Oh, one pertinent thing I forgot to mention (doy). The whole thing seemed to catch my attention just after I installed a grounding kit. It seemed like at or around the time I did that, the car was ALWAYS idling at 1500 RPMS, which was really wierd. Reset the ECU, still kept idling very high. After I took it off it stopped idling so high, but all of the grounds were hooked up properly. Also, when the AC pump kicked on the rpms would really rocket.
Why would a grounding kit do such a thing?
