Hook up FMIC or stock TMIC w/ vf34

Just bought a 2002 wagon with 143k miles, the previous owner has a greddy FMIC installed but not the pipings installed. Its currently running stock TMIC.

It has a vf34 + cobb exhaust + Accessport

Ive been reading things about how a FMIC isnt that good.

Well this ones already installed I just need the piping, so either way the steel bumper is out.

Should I go the cheaper route and install the pipings, or should I try to sell the FMIC and get an aftermarket TMIC?

On a tight budget, is FMIC as bad as people make it out to be?? this a street car, no tracking that ive planned on.

FMIC on a stock tubro plus the 2.0 is pretty much a sad set up. Even FP green with 2.5's don't like the fmic. It's super laggy and not good for DD's.

If your not into tracking the car I suggest selling the FMIC core and picking up a stock 04-07 STi TMIC. Or even trading. This is a great set up; 2.0, VF34, sti . Very street able

How much do you think ill be able to get for just the FMIC greddy core?

It would be cool if someone was willing to trade STi TMIC for my FMIC ;D

It truly depends on your goals. I've seen a lot of great setups with a 2.0 with a front mount and the right turbo. In my personal opinion an Evo 3 16G, External wastegate with a front mount setup can net you very close to 300WHP. It depends on what fuel you'll be tuning on as well. The lag won't be that bad as most people think.

Nothing you will be doing on a stock block 2.0L will warrant a FMIC.
