Hks Uppipe And Downpipe
I want to know if anyone has installed HKS uppipe, downpipe and both. Is the HKS unpipe and downpipe will trigger the CEL??
I really want to know since both pipe is really cheaper than other brands.
If those combination works fine, I will get those as I can save money to buy those expensive uppipe/downpipe which SPECIFY: WILL NOT TRIGGER THE CEL LIGHT.
Or any suggestion brand of uppipe/downpipe?

YES, if both are installed, it will trigger the CEL.
The HKS downpipe replaces all catalytic converters after the turbo and connect right to your cat-back exhaust. Unlike some other brands the downpipe and "mid pipe" are sold seperately, while the HKS is one piece at much cheaper price.
The HKS up-pipe is just the same as other brands, but high quality and great price. Other brands mark their prices so high because back then there was no one making any "up-pipe" or downpipe for the WRX. two words, rip off.
We have installed and sold many HKS downpipes and Up-pipes, never had a complain about the quality or fitment. You can't go wrong with HKS.
The CEL won't affect your performance, your ECU will still run in normal mode.
Those brands that say won't trigger CEL, some they weld a small pipe off the original location of the o2 sensor bung, extend it by a few inches and weld the bung on it, so the O2 sensor senses less pollution from your exhaust.
If you don't like the CEL, there's a few tricks, you can get one of those O2 sensor simulator for $30, which can be had from most performance muffler shop. or simply hang the o2 sensor outside of the pipe, and plug the hole. either way works.
