I'm about to purchase a wrx that has a hks bov and apex n1 exhaust. I've searched for some info regarding it and have come up with some more questions:
I've read that bov's can cause the car to flutter, idle low, lag, and backfire. With this guy's set up, I didn't experience any of these other than possibly some lag. Now I plan on going back to stocker with the exhaust cuz as it is now it won't pass smog with the n1. If i go back to stock exhaust but keep the bov, will i expereince all of the above listed symptoms? Should I just go stock all the way? What about an exhaust that will pass smog ie. SPT exhaust?
The bov sounds cool, but i don't think i'd be willing to give up performance for it. Is there a way I can keep the bov without hindering performance as well as pass smog? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

does he just have the Cat-back? if its just the cat-back then it will pass smog so you wouldnt need to put the stock one back on. about the BOV lots of people havent experienced problems with the hks, but there are the few that have. i for one dont even have one so i cant really say, but i would think it would be ok to leave on.

leave it on it won't do anything bad to your car, I have an HKS Bov too, no problems at all, and if it's just a catback you'll pass smog, the only thing you have to worry about is your cats.
