HKS+APS bastard child down pipe

ok after looking and looking for a good down pipe. I really couldn't find a good devorced downpipe that was cheap and required no modification to my existing catback (HKS hi-power)

I really like APS's turbo exhaust inlet, it looks like a quiality piece, also I really like HKS's stuff and they're DP looks good (cheep) save the horrible inlet. so I'm thinking about buying the APS inlet and the HKS DP and having a local exhaust shop mate the two.

I haven't done it yet as I dont have the $$ but how much do people think it'll cost and is it a good idea?

For the total cost you could get a better set up. Get Perrin, it's divorced, the only thing is that it meets up so close to turbo discharge. But it should run better than the above set up, and cost less time=money.

I have the APS HFTO with a 3" custom turbo-back. A local muffler shop bent all the pipe and installed it for $125. Buying the APS unit and the HKS downpipe is going to cost you $335. I'm sure there are some better alternitives for that price. The reason I went the route I did was because of my budget. My entire turbo-back costed about $400.

Not dissing, because you'd be hard pressed to find a ton of differance performance wise, but that is crush bent piping. Not as aestetically pleasing, but it will work.

mandrel bent tubing is pretty important as far as flow quality goes. A mandrel bent 2.25 inch exhaust will flow better than a 2.5 crush bent for example...

That might be true in theory. But in reality a dyno run can't differentiate between the two. I'm willing to bet that there is not more than 1 hp difference.
