Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Question seeing higher boost w/ bov swap

I recently swaped bov's from a txs rfl to a worx ver1.2 and my boost jumped from 1.2-1.3 to 1.4-1.5 bar, I checked all the boost lines and everything looks right could it be due to the txs leaking? Oh yeah the check engine light turns off now doesnt stay on all the time. No misfires according to the codes pulled.

sounds likely that the txs was leaking. what code was your CEL that you were getting? do you have DD or any way to log your car at the higher boost? I've got DD if you want to see how it's doing sometime. PM if you want.

Almost certainly your old BOV was venting due to soft spring. Was it recirc or venting? If it was venting, you were running very rich most of the time, which causes misfires. The air/fuel mixture gets so dense that the electrical resistance can get higher than the ignition can overcome.
