hello, i was wondering what makes ppl choose different exhaust systems for their WRXs. i was thinking about the HKS Carbon Ti exhaust, i believe its just a cat back.



i was wondering what kind of gains id expect, and whether it sounded farty or not

 

it all depends on look, sound, price, and whatever else makes people do what they do.

Yes that particular HKS is a premade catback system.

I had a Greddy catback, but didnt like it because it was a little to soft. So I went to ESH and cut off the Greddy muffler and had them weld up a universal HKS carbon TI muffler. To me it sounds great. The Greddy piping has 2 resonators, so I cant imagine what it would sound like with just 1 or none. Im guessing pretty loud So if you really want that muffler, they sell universal ones. Hell of a lot cheaper than getting a premade catback. Although to the best of my knowledge, no shops here have mandrel benders. Well I think Larry's does, but I wouldnt trust them putting air in my tires. So if that bothers you then a premade system might be better.

As for power....well after I swapped mufflers, I did my first 12.6
