Guys running e85?

I'm just curious how many 2.0 liter guys are running e85 and what kind of results you've seen.

My motor is getting tired and I'm making plans and buying parts to make a change when she pops. I've been leaning towards a built 255 hybrid build or a 257 long block. But I talked to a guy the other day running a built 2.0 liter and I've had so much luck with my current 2.0 (181k and counting) that I wouldn't mind keeping a 2.0 if I could get a few more ponies and more torque out of it.

I don't need huge huge power. I am more interested in reality but I'd really like to be around 275hp/tq.

So fill me in guys. Most of the e85 stuff I've read up on has been evo's and sti's.

With a vf39 on a 2.0 with e85 you will range from 270-300 whp, the car will be great fun with e85 do it!!

2.0l FTW!! Don't need 2.5's

I made 330whp 315tq on my EJ205 with a VF34, DW 850cc injectors, Halman B/C, 3in Tbe, catless uppipe, k&n drop in filter, and walbro 255 fuel pump.(Running e85 of course). It was a conservative tune and felt great!

The motor had 100,000 miles on it.

So that's just a comparison to what you need in parts and what power level you'll be looking for. I suppose if you didn't run e85 you don't need 850cc injectors just sti pinks or 06-07 wrx "blues" and no fuel pump. Maybe make 230whp with out e85?

Sweet. That's what I like to hear. If I can't get Paul's 257 I think I'll end up doing.g a built 2.0 on e85 if I can map some stations.

2.0's are great on E85 because they can actually make some decent torque. That's always been the issue with them on lower octane fuels. Most EJ205's on VF turbos will make around 315-330whp and around 315ft-lbs on E85.

Good stuff.

My motor has 185k on it. I'd like to start putting parts together for this pretty soon here.

I'm thinking I'll do a built 2.0 block and reworked heads when she goes. Then a td05 16g xt probably. I don't want to go much bigger than that as I plan to put a lot of miles on this motor too. LOL. Thinking 850cc injectors with the 16g xt and I'd be good for around 300 which is what I want.

Just need some more e85 stations. I have not found ANY near by me.

How do you guys handle this? Do you have a 55g that you fill up and then fill up from home? I found 2 stations on my way to go snowboarding so I think I'm good for the winter but I need more stations. Seems silly to do this kind of swap over when you can't get gas anywhere.
