Greddy EGT + Boost gauge

I did a search but didn't come up with much.

Anyone have any experience installing these? I planned on putting the probe for the EGT on the leanest cylinder plenum, but it doesn't look like there's any good way to keep the probe in and prevent it from falling out.

Also, is it ok to just start with a small drill bit with the engine running to push out the shavings and then slowly work up to a 1/8 bit?

What hose did you hook the vacuum line up to for the boost gauge?

atomi- I think the reasoning behind putting it into the leanest cylinder is to have the lowest possible a/f that any of the cylinder's are running. So you know the worst a/f in comparison to the rest of the cylinders.

I have heard of people putting in the uppipe, but not the downpipe. Uppipe is a little cooler and kind of takes the average of all four so you never really know how lean your engine is, correct??

Something I was wondering was, how to get the egt probe to stay in place. Is some type of pipe clamp needed?

Never mind, whatever I decide to mount this in needs to be drilled AND tapped unfortunately. So if anyone wants to comment on the pro's and con's of whether or not to put this in the #3 manifold pipe or other area, please let me know.

I hooked up the boost gauge to the T where most people do the 3/16's mod. My boost isn't going over .5 bar though and it doesn't seem to be steady at all.

I thought the BOV was coming off the front of the intercooler and wasn't a good place to hook up the boost gauge?

The BOV location is where the manual tells you to put it. It reads right off the intake manifold I believe.

As for EGT location, you want Cylinder 3. That is passenger side rear most cylinder. That is the last cylinder in the fuel rail. Of course if you got a upgrade fuel rail, putting it in the uppipe or in the collector it would be just fine too. Really though even if it's at the collector of cylinder 3/4 it'll be fine and you'll get some pretty good readings. If you look at the manifold you'll see a little button or raised section that is perfect for drilling and tapping.

There is virtually no difference in putting it there or putting it at the BOV location, or even near the fuel pressure regulator. But FYI the subaru manual says BOV.
