Post general problems with WRX?

I have an 02 RS with 70k miles and I've been having problems since I bought it, o2 censors, cat. conv., alarm, etc... and ive only had it not even a year. I am thinkin its a lemon and want to get a WRX. I found one local with 92k miles, for $12,000. Do you think its a good buy with that many miles, or should i opt for another RS, hopefully without as many problems? Please help.. thanks

The WRX has only been available in North America since late 2002, so a WRX with 96k miles on it has been driven quite a bit -- 24,000 miles a year at minimum if it is an 02, even higher if it is newer. I'd say the average 02 is probably nearing the 60 to 80k mark, and few are crossing the 100k mark. Any used car with that many miles is suspect, in my book.

I havn't had many problems with my 03, I bought it used with 22k and now it has about 40k. I really don't think I'd buy one with more than 60k used. You start needing lots of stuff, clutch, brakes, tranny maybe even a new motor or a turbo.

Go find yourself an '05 RS with 15K or less on the clock and enjoy. Anyone who would consider a WRX with 90K miles would be nuts in my opinion and I sell 'em. If it is YOU WRX with 90K mile YOU put on great. But, who the f--- knows what that poor baby has been through?

i have 72k on my 03 and have had no major problems. The only problem i have is the windows squeaking when i roll them down but that can be easily solved. No engine/tranny related problems. Ive got basic bolt ons and have also drag raced it over 20 times at the track. I agree with the other posts, if you put the 90k on the wrx its fine, but you really dont know what the owner has done or how he has treated the car

Apply it to the outside edge of the window and the rubber "jacket" near the mirror mount... Lasts for months.
